Mission
 Help-for-the-journey

Our church is committed as a royal priesthood to go out into our community and support others as Christians and share the good news of Jesus. Our commitment to Christian mission extends to working with external organisations involved with mission work in other places, nationally and internationally.

CAP (Christians Against Poverty).

We see poverty as a form of oppression and we as disciples are committed to freeing those enslaved as Jesus was anointed to do. Churches across the UK are committed to tackling the causes of poverty in their local area by partnering with CAP and providing free debt help and community groups. To learn more about the work of CAP click here.

If you think you, your family or people you know would benefit from debt counselling in Forest Row please contact our qualified CAP debt counsellor for when the next course will be run at the Church.

Tek Ura

Our church has been supporting this Christian mission in Albania for approaching 10 years, initially indirectly through the BMS World Mission and now directly as a chosen mission. Tek Ura recruits, deploys and supports small teams, who develop community centres and learning hubs as ‘bridges’ to various forms of holistic mission in areas of social deprivation and marginality. They strive to make a real and lasting difference to the quality of life of local people by promoting community cohesion, encouraging healthier lifestyles, improving access to education, tackling isolation and addressing the root causes of poverty. They run a range of facilities, groups and activities that benefit local residents from all walks of life. Their team of locally-based employees and volunteers deliver targeted community projects that address specific areas of need. If you would like to learn more about their work click here.

BMS World Mission

"The highest goal of all we do is to bring people to faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and an experience of the abundant life that only he can provide."
As a Baptist Church we support the various mission efforts of BMS around the world, working in and partnering with other organisations in over 30 countries. BMS works among some of the most marginalised and least evangelised people, as well as those forced to flee home, in some of the most fragile places on earth. To learn more about the work they do and how they can be supported click here.

Planning your Visit

You are very welcome!

You are very welcome to join our church community, whether you are wanting to take your your first steps in being a Christian, wanting to strengthen your faith, or visiting Forest Row. The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you will be greeted by someone from our Welcome Team who will show you are amenities and help you where to sit.

We sometimes serve tea, coffee and biscuits from 10am, before the service begins, but always at the end of services. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Our Services

The main service begins at 10:30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship, teaching and prayer. Sung worship is led by our band (most Sundays) or with video songs, all accompanied with lyrics. We also share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. A message/sermon that is bible based that we can apply to our everyday life will be given by either one of our church members or a guest speaker. We serve Communion every 4th Sunday (check our calendar) to which everyone attending the service is welcome wherever you are on your Christian journey. There is opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service, and warm fellowship over a tea, coffee, biscuits and (should we be blessed) cake!

What about my kids?

All of our Sunday services are appropriate for families and children of all ages. There are toys, books and puzzles to keep smaller ones occupied. We are relaxed about children who may share their experiences of the service noisily, however if parents and carers would prefer to take them out of the service there is provision for that too:

  • Creche (0 months to 3 years). There is a discrete and safe place for parents and carers of young Children and welcome to use should they require somewhere outside of the service.
  • Sunday School  Our church has provided this form of worship for children (3-7 years) and (7-11 years) but is currently under review when there is sufficient demand, but we would love to run it again, so please bring your children. If you have lots of kids then please inform us in advance and we will explore providing a something for them.
  • Young people (15+ years) Are all welcome to attend our main service.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Small Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.
